PIN Polio Phase Two in East Jakarta Targets Crowded Places

The East Jakarta Health Sub-agency is about to target crowded places for the second phase of the door-to-door National Immunization Week service. It is a strategy to reach more toddlers aged 0-7 years.

East Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Herwin Meifendy said the second phase of the Polio PIN had started on Monday (8/12) yesterday, with a target of 358,953 toddlers aged 0-7 years.

"We'll visit public areas such as shopping centers, playgrounds, RPTRA, Posyandu, and so on, especially during holidays," he expressed, Tuesday (8/13).

He added the service in the public area every weekend is done according to the capabilities of existing health facilities.

His party would also open PIN postal services in all existing hospitals, both government and private. Then cooperate with cross-sectors to the smallest line at RT/RW and PKK cadre levels.

"We will also conduct sweeps down to the RW level. Thus, we do not miss children aged 0-7 years in the area," he continued.

For the results to be more optimal and on target, the party would collaborate with professional organizations, clinics, and universities related to additional human resources in the field.

Based on data from the East Jakarta Health Sub-agency, on the first day of the second phase of Polio Immunization, 1,276 toddlers or 29.7 percent of the total target of 358,953 toddlers had been immunized.

Meanwhile, the data from the first stage of immunization from a total of 358,953 toddlers, the achievement was 355,899 toddlers or 99.1 percent.
